Megan O'Hara was a breast cancer survivor and patient of McNamara/Troy. She had had both breasts removed because of her cancer and came to the doctors to see about getting implants. In time, she developed a relationship with Dr.Sean McNamara. The two began an affair shortly after.
Sean eventually tries to break off the affair, after his son Matt finds out about it. However, this happens at the same time that Megan finds out her cancer has returned. She decides that she would rather commit suicide than go through chemotherapy again. She asks Sean to help her go out in a peaceful way.
